The quickest time is changing hands at a rapid pace.
Charles Leclerc was top with a 1:13.125 but Max Verstappen responded with a 1:13.103 to leapfrog the Monegasque driver.
But this is Charles' home turf. He needs a good weekend in front of his adoring fans. So his next flying lap is even better and he gives his supporters a 1:12.764 to go back to the top of the timing sheets.

Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 LiveThe McLaren move hasn't really worked out for Ricciardo and I struggle to see how he is going to turn the corner because once you start to get into a downward spiral - which he is absolutely in - it's difficult to come out the other side.
It's almost like he needs a refresh, a switch of teams and a different environment to pull things back.

Ricciardo was out later than other drivers but the swimming pool chicane has claimed another car crunched into the barriers.
The rear of the McLaren pulled away from Ricciardo and there was not much the Aussie could do. The car is now being lifted into the air while the marshals clear the debris.
"Glad you're OK," says Ricciardo's engineer.
